Driving from the North/I-580 East:
Highway I-580-East
Take the Harrison St./Oakland Avenue exit
Take the left fork of the exit ramp toward Oakland Ave.
At the end of the exit ramp
Turn LEFT and you'll be on Oakland Ave. just long enough to pass under the freeway
Immediately turn LEFT onto Santa Clara Ave, (you might notice that it's named Santa Clara on one side
and MacArthur on the other).
Get into the second lane from the left.
Go STRAIGHT for 1 block to the corner of Harrison
Go STRAIGHT AHEAD through the two columns with giraffes painted on them (most cars veer to the right onto MacArthur, or turn left -- Santa Clara is neither!)
55 Santa Clara is the only building on the left, before you get to Fairmount
Driving from San Francisco/SF Airport:
From SF Airport, take Highway 101 North to the Bay Bridge
Go east across the Bay Bridge
Follow directions for Driving from the North/I-580 East
Driving from the South/I-580 West:
Highway I-580 West
Take the Harrison/MacArthur Exit
As you come down the exit, get into the SECOND lane from the left
Continue STRAIGHT for 2 blocks to the corner of Harrison
Go STRAIGHT AHEAD through the two columns with giraffes painted on them (most cars veer to the right onto MacArthur, or turn left -- Santa Clara is neither)
55 Santa Clara is the only building on the left, before you get to Fairmount
Driving from the South/I-880 North/Oakland and SanJose Airports:
Highway I-880 North
Exit Highway I-980 and go 1-2 miles
Exit Highway I-580 East and go for about 1 mile
Take the Harrison St./Oakland Avenue exit
Take the left fork of the exit ramp toward Oakland Ave.
At the end of the exit ramp
Turn LEFT and you'll be on Oakland Ave. just long enough to pass under the freeway

Drive down Hwy 24 West to Oakland
Take the San Francisco/Hayward exit onto Interstate-580 East towards Hayward
Travel less than 1/4 mile on Interstate-580 East; preparing to exit on the right
Take the Harrison Street/Oakland Avenue exit
Take the left fork of the exit ramp toward Oakland Avenue
At the end of the exit ramp
Turn LEFT and you'll be on Oakland Avenue just long enough to pass under the freeway
Immediately turn LEFT onto Santa Clara Avenue (you might notice that it's
named Santa Clara on one side and MacArthur on the other)
Get into the SECOND lane from the left

From Broadway/MacArthur:
Drive towards Piedmont Ave. and continue until Fairmount.
Turn right on Fairmount, and immediately left on Santa Clara.

From Grand Lake Theater
Get on Santa Clara Ave. by going towards the freeway and turning right just before the freeway onramp.
Continue on Santa Clara, past Oakland Avenue to Harrison St., and get into the second lane from the left.
At the intersection of Harrison and Santa Clara Ave, there are two columns with giraffes painted on them.
Go STRAIGHT AHEAD through the two columns with giraffes (most cars veer to the right onto MacArthur, or turn left -- Santa Clara is neither!)

Walking Directions from MacArthur BART station
(about 1 mile from BayNVC):
The station is between 40th Street and MacArthur Blvd near Telegraph Ave. in Oakland.
As you exit the turnstyle you will be facing East (towards the hills, away from the Bay) and will see a parking lot. Walk straight across the plaza and before you get to the parking lot, take a right (heading South) and walk 1 block alongside the service road (the parking lot on your left, a BART trestle wall on your right) to MacArthur Blvd.
Turn left on MacArthur (heading East) about 6 stoplights. Along the way you'll pass Telegraph Ave., Mosswood Park, Broadway and Piedmont Ave. The next stoplight is Fairmount.
Make a right on Fairmount, go 1 block, and make a left on Santa Clara
Ave. The building is the only one on your right, #55 Santa Clara Ave.
We recommend that you ask for a ride from your classmates after your class to avoid returning to BART alone in the dark.
Local Bus from the MacArthur BART Station:
Take the AC Transit #57 "MacArthur" Bus. It costs $2.00 and takes about 5 minutes to get to BayNVC.
The AC Transit #57 comes by the MacArthur BART Station every 12-15 minutes.
Exit at the bus stop on MacArthur Blvd. and the corner of Fairmount Avenue.
Walk up Fairmount Avenue one short block to Santa Clara Avenue.
BayNVC is in the large multi-story brown office building on the corner of
Fairmount and Santa Clara Ave.
To return to the MacArthur BART Station on the #57 AC Transit Bus, walk back down
Fairmount to the corner of MacArthur Blvd. The bus stop is on the opposite side of MacArthur Blvd.
(It comes by every 12-15 minutes - every 1/2 hour after 7:30 pm.)
If you are attending an evening event at the BayNVC office, we
invite you to ask the other participants at the event for a ride back
to the MacArthur BART Station rather than catch the bus after dark.
